Electrical/Mechanical Technician 

Charlotte, NC + Travel / Full Time

America In Motion Inc. offers 30+ years' experience in the design, build and implementation of automated guided vehicles and AGV systems to provide automated material handling solutions featuring AGV technology and other forms of factory automation. 

 

We are currently looking to hire one Electrical/Mechanical Technician (Charlotte, NC).This position is responsible for assembling electrical and mechanical components of AGV’s. Responsible for general day to day assembly technician capabilities working both independently and as a team to meet and exceed customer expectations. 
 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

​

  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.​

  • Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.

  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.

  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed components.

  • Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.

  • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.

  • Responsible for evaluating and repairing any potential malfunctions that may occur during runoff and installation of the AGV

  • Maintain strict adherence to Company policy of Safety and Standard Operating Procedures..

  • Coordinate with the Production Manager to ensure on-time delivery to the next department.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications  â€‹

​

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • The ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings, then implement electrical and mechanical components

  • Proven experience of building controls panels, point to point wiring

  • Mechanical Assembly experience a plus

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Ability to pass physical, drug screen and reference check.

  • General knowledge of the use of test instruments and hand tools.

  • Good mechanical and technical comprehension, interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work well under pressure.

  • Must be able to pay attention to detail, follow detailed processes and reporting requirements.

  • Must have the ability to multitask.
