Description:

America In Motion is currently seeking to hire a Project Engineer to join our team. The candidate will manage technical and engineering projects dealing with our Automatic Guided Vehicles (AGVs). They will work with the AIM team to ensure all projects are finished on time and within the budget

Responsibilities:

  • Complete engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements.

  • Develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans and conferring with management.

  • Determine project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, assigning personnel to phases and elements, and reviewing bids from contractors.

  • Determine project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards.

  • Complete technical studies and prepare cost estimates.

  • Confirm product performance by designing and conducting tests.

  • Determine project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements.

  • Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.

  • Control project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan, scheduling changes, and recommending actions.

  • Control project costs by approving expenditures and administering contractor contracts.

  • Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.

  • Interact with shop assembly personnel to ensure a correct and high-quality product.

  • Specify Parts and Delegate Purchasing activities to ensure on time delivery of parts.

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Maintain project databases by writing computer programs; entering and backing up data.

  • Maintain product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.

  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.


Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or other related discipline required

  • 5+ years of project experience 

  • EIT certification preferred

  • Experience with large manufacturing facilities construction sites preferred

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite of tools, exposure to schedule software preferred

  • Reacts quickly and effectively to project adjustments and alterations.

  • Experience in estimating, making engineering trade-offs - at different stages of development.

  • Ability to work with tight deadlines and troubleshoot design problems.

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and vendors.

  • Flexible during times of change. Extended hours may be required to meet project deadlines.
